Alexis Kennedy, co-founder of London’s Failbetter Games, has announced that he’s leaving the company to “go ronin” as a freelancer.

Along with the rest of Failbetter, he was responsible for Fallen London and Sunless Sea, and played a major part in pushing the bounds of just how many words you can squeeze into a single game – there were a million of them in Fallen London when I spoke to him back in December, and they’ve probably written a few more since then.

Failbetter will carry on in his absence – it’s “in an excellent place, and delights in an excellent team,” Kennedy said in his departing blog post. “Me, I’ll be walking the earth like Jules in Pulp Fiction walking the earth like Caine in Kung Fu.”
