Have we reached peak what-will-the-original-Doom-run-on yet?
Now the 1993 game has made the jump from low-tech to high, as Facebook engineer Adam Bell has managed to get the game running on the new MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar.
That sounds great until you remember that the Touch Bar is long, thin, and just 60 pixels high, meaning the game is a little… squashed? Cramped? Unrecognizable?
It’s proof positive that aspect ratios matter to more than just graphics nerds, because right here it’s the difference between a playable game and a weird strip of distorted bloodshed. Not that that’s a bad thing, of course.
